  1. 2. Viola needs to appear as a man because the Duke would not speak to her if she was a woman.
    3. Toby was trying to set up Olivia with Sir Andrew, who is a dopey drunk friend of Toby's.

  2. Question #3: Sir Toby was trying to set up Olivia with Sir Andrew Aguecheek. He does not see anything wrong with Andrew because they are both drunks and therefore see no faults in themselves. I doubt that if Toby was sober he would be setting Olivia up with a drunk.

  4. 2.Viola needs to appear as a man so that she can win over Olivia for Orsino. Orsino cannot win over Olivia for himself because he is older and he feels that if he sends Viola over to Olivia she will be more impressed because of "his" younger age.

  5. 3.Toby was trying to set Olivia up with Sir Andrew Aguecheek. This is his friend who is a very bad match for Olivia. He is a drunk and Maria, Olivia's gentlewoman, does not approve of him at all.

  6. Viola is accepted so quickly by the duke, who sees Ceasario as a trustworthy companion to share his thoughts and dreams with. They are easy friends, even though Viola has begun to fall in love with him, knowing that Orsino is in love with Olivia.
